PEERS® Intervention for Teens and Adults

PEERS® is a specialized program for helping teens and adults develop the social skills necessary for making friends, maintaining relationships, dating, and handling conflict. Blue Bird offers PEERS® coaching for teens and adults in groups and we also offer a modified version of PEERS® for individuals and groups.

PEERS® Groups

Blue Bird is now offering PEERS® social groups for teens and adults. It involves 16 weekly telehealth sessions* to learn social skills through lessons, role-play demonstrations, and socialization activities.

We’ll cover conversational skills, appropriate use of humor, organizing get-togethers, being a good sport, electronic communication, social media, dating skills, handling disagreements, handling teasing and bullying, and more.

PEERS® Coaching

If you prefer 1:1 support, Blue Bird can also adapt the PEERS® method to individual coaching, covering the same topics as in the groups.

We will work together virtually over 16 weeks to overcome social obstacles and develop the foundational skills required for forming and maintaining relationships - personal, romantic, and/or professional.

PEERS® individual coaching is also appropriate for teens or adults on the autism spectrum.
