Christie Savitt, BCBA

Founder and Director

Blue Bird’s Founder and Director, Christie, is an educator and a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) specializing in social skills and executive function. She has over 20 years of experience working with adults and children, both privately and in school settings.

In addition to her Behavior Analyst Certification, Christie holds an M.S. in Special Education and two teaching credentials. She is also a UCLA PEERS® certified Social Skills provider and has training in both Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Training. Utilizing her experience and training, Christie has developed a play-based social skills curriculum for young children called Blue Bird Kids.

Christie’s goal for Blue Bird is to help adults, teens, and children develop the essential social skills necessary for building connections and confidence that will lead to a  life filled with meaning and joy.

  • Social Skills Group Facilitator

    Catherine is a social skills group facilitator at Blue Bird. She earned her M.S. in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Southern California and her B.A. in Psychology and Education Sciences from the University of California, Irvine.

    Before joining Blue Bird, Catherine worked in academic and community-based settings as an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, where she provided individual, family, and social skills services for children ages 0–5 and counseling support for high school adolescents. In addition to her role at Blue Bird, she currently works in a private practice setting, offering mental health therapy to children, adolescents, and families.

    Born and raised in Los Angeles, Catherine is passionate about serving the communities she grew up in. Her work is centered on helping children build confidence, emotional awareness, and social connection through play and education. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her dog, Whiskey, baking, and reading. Catherine is excited to be part of the Blue Bird team and to support the children and school communities partnered with Blue Bird!

  • Social Skills Group Facilitator

    Joselyne is a Social Skills Group Facilitator at Blue Bird. She graduated from the University of California SanDiego with a B.A. in Psychology and a minor in Ethnic Studies. During her time at UCSD, she volunteered with Partners of Learning and was able to bring social/emotional learning lessons into elementary school classrooms thereby discovering her passion for supporting young learners. In addition to her role at Blue Bird, Joselyne also works as a Behavioral Therapist, guiding adolescent clients in strengthening their social skills as they navigate life with autism. Her experiences working with individual clients paired with her background in classroom-based support, allow allow her to help young children grow socially, emotionally, and confidently. In her free time she enjoys singing in her L.A. based band, seeing movies in the theatre, and discovering new restaurants.

  • Operations Manager

    Our Operations Manager at Blue Bird  is Melissa (Missy). She oversees the day-to-day operations that support our clients and families. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management and is currently pursuing an MBA. With more than a decade of leadership and operations management experience in the non-profit sector, she has focused on ABA insurance-based billing, collaborating with public school districts, and managing hiring, onboarding, and contracts.

    She is known for her warm approach and strong organizational skills, she takes pride in creating welcoming environments where children can thrive. She’s passionate about working with families and staff to provide consistent, nurturing, and supportive experiences for every child. Outside of work, I love baking, especially my signature chocolate chip cookies and holiday cookie platters! She tries to live each day to the fullest while helping others whenever she can.

  • Marketing and Communications

    As a Marketing and Communications Specialist for Bluebird Social Skills, Anjali Bose develops and implements digital strategies that elevate the organization’s brand and expand its reach. She leads social media, content, and branding initiatives that reflect Bluebird’s compassionate, playful approach to teaching social skills, helping families and educators connect with its mission to support social and emotional growth in young children. Outside of work, she loves to travel, go on long walks, and spend time with her two cockapoos.
